ENAC has granted AENOR Internacional the first accreditation for certification of trusted electronic transaction service providers in the domestic market in accordance with the European Regulation 910/2014.

(EU) Regulation No. 910/2014, commonly known as eIDAS, lays down rules for trust services, particularly for electronic transactions, and a legal framework for electronic signatures, electronic seals, electronic time-stamps, electronic documents, certified electronic delivery services and web site authentication certificate services.

In article 20, it states that lenders qualified in trust services (as mentioned above) must be audited at least every 24 months by a conformity inspector, to confirm that as well as the services provided, they meet the requirements laid down in the Regulation.

ENAC has been closely collaborating with the Secretary of State for the Information and Digital Agenda Society to start up this accreditation scheme.

With this accreditation, trusted service providers already have a Spanish certifier which can perform the audits and reports required by the eIDAS Regulation.
