After more than a year of work, the Spanish Electric Network (REE) and the Distribution Network Managers have published the Technical Supervision Standard that enables electricity generation module conformity to be assessed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/631 , which sets out the minimum technical requirements for energy quality to be met by new installations in order to ensure the safety of the European electricity system, the integration of renewables, and to make it easier to trade in electricity in the EU.

Therefore, with the technical standard, network connection requirement assessment for generators is harmonised in Spain and the agents who must take part in assessing these requirements are clearly established, including compliance assessors for which ENAC accreditation or equivalent is required.

In anticipation of the aforementioned technical standard being published, ENAC has developed the accreditation scheme and is in a position to accredit both laboratories developing component and simulation tests as well as product certification bodies that certify components and plants.

If you would like more detailed information on the new accreditation scheme or have any questions about the accreditation process, please contact Enrique Giraldo, ENAC's Head of Energy area in the Laboratories and Product Certification department.
