The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the American professional association  energy engineers, has obtained ENAC’s accreditation for professional certification under its "CEM/CEA International Certification Scheme" and has become the first accredited body to certify energy manager's professional profile (Certified Energy Manager, CEM). It also has obtained accreditation for certifying energy auditors (Certified Energy Auditor, CEA).

The AEE, with presence in more than 90 countries, has developed various certification schemes for various occupational categories but only one of them is specifically implemented internationally: the "CEM /CEA International Certification Scheme".

With the recent accreditation, backed by ENAC, this certification scheme will be offered internationally.

The energy sector relies on accredited person certification

In the case of Spain, the accredited person certification in the energy sector is one of the most widespread, offering guarantees on the technical expertise of various professional positions: project managers, professionals and technicians, gas installers and implementation and adaption specialists, head welders and gas distribution channelling technicians, building heating system installers and experts, housing certification technical and energy auditors, and technicians, inspectors and experts in high and low voltage electrical installations.
