ENAC has granted AENOR the first accreditation for business continuity management system certification in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 22301 standard.

Business continuity management is a new tool for strategic management of organizations that by analysing business risk assessment (considering the context, needs and expectations of the interested parties) and defining and periodically testing the continuity plans. It is capable of ensuring a minimum product and service supply level in order to achieve business objectives during an outage and if unacceptable levels are reached, it can minimize the duration and impact.

With accreditation, the certification body has demonstrated that they have competent staff, validated and reliable inspection and decision-making processes to be able to certify with guarantees that an organization has a business continuity management system in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 22301 standard to ensure that they can continue providing products and services at a predefined and acceptable level in the event of a "disruptive incident".

"Accreditation is the formal recognition of the independent, impartial and technical capacity of a conformity assessment body to develop certification activities. This guarantees all interested parties that the certificates issued are the result of a rigorous, independent audit process carried out by a technically competent team", reassures Boris Delgado, AENOR's ICT Manager.
