ENAC grants Deloitte Strategy, Risk & Transactions the first accreditation in the Point-of-Sale field (POS) accessibility assessment
The National Accreditation Body (ENAC) has granted Deloitte Strategy, Risk & Transactions accreditation for public sector website and mobile application accessibility analysis, in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018, and, for the first time in Spain, for self-service terminal assessment, such as ATMs and point-of-sale terminals (POS), under the European standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1.
This standard, developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), establishes accessibility requirements for ICT products and services to be accessible to all people, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities, enabling them to interact with these systems independently, safely, and effectively.
ENAC accreditation is a tool to identify bodies that have proven to be technically competent and reliable, that have the necessary material and human resources, and, of course, that are subject to strict internal and external controls to ensure the truthfulness and value of their certificates.
For this reason, this accreditation represents another step forward in the national framework for digital accessibility, as it is the first time that ENAC formally recognizes the technical competence of a body to assess these terminals’ accessibility, providing confidence in an activity aimed at ensuring equal access to electronic services.
