The National Accreditation Body (ENAC) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Institute of Engineering, Spain (IIE), the federation grouping together the main Engineer associations in the country — such as aeronautical, agricultural, civil, industrial, I.C.A.I., mining, forestry, naval and oceanic, and telecommunications engineers — with the aim of expanding its network of technical experts.

This agreement, formalized on May 13 in Madrid in the presence of Mª Cruz Díaz Álvarez, IIE president, and Beatriz Rivera Romero, ENAC’s general director, will strengthen technical competence assessment in various technical and scientific sectors. Within this framework, the IIE commits to providing ENAC with information about possible experts who may collaborate in the assessment processes, key to ensuring the rigor of accreditation processes.

These professionals, leaders in their respective activity fields, provide the necessary expertise to make solid technical judgments about the assessed bodies’ level of competence. In this regard, ENAC’s general director, Beatriz Rivera, emphasizes:

“The collaboration with Spain’s Institute of Engineering represents another step in continuing to guarantee the accreditation system’s technical excellence. Having highly qualified and recognized experts in their respective fields is essential for ensuring that our assessments maintain the highest standards of rigor and competence. This alliance will not only enable us to expand our network of experts but also strengthens our commitment to a robust accreditation system aligned with the needs of the technical and productive fabric of the country.”

For her part, Mª Cruz Díaz Álvarez, IIE president, says that "this agreement with ENAC strengthens IIE's commitment to technical excellence and professional quality, while also opening new avenues for collaboration in strategic projects for developing the engineering sector."
ENAC and the IIE will also collaborate in promotional and dissemination activities by organizing conferences, seminars, and public events for raising awareness about accreditation’s importance for society and to improving the technical aspects and efficiency of the analysis, certification, and inspection activities carried out in this field.

In this way, the alliance between ENAC and the IIE will help to further strengthen the robustness of the accreditation system in Spain, promote a higher technical standard in the sectors in which it operates by requiring compliance with international standards and implementation in accordance with guidelines accepted by the scientific or technical community.
