Bureau Veritas Iberia has obtained ENAC accreditation as a certification body for information privacy management systems, according to the UNE-ISO/IEC 27701:2021 standard, which establishes the requirements and guidelines for implementing this type of management system, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal information.

This standard complements ISO/IEC 27001, expanding information security controls to include specific privacy aspects, so helping to manage this activity efficiently and serving as a very useful tool for demonstrating compliance with data protection regulations.

ENAC accreditation is evidence of the certifier's technical competence in relation to its clients in providing various services to its business areas, providing confidence that it acts impartially, has competent personnel both in terms of the auditing process and knowledge of the business sectors in which it operates, with assessment processes carried out in a sufficient timeframe and decision-making processes that are validated and reliable.

In this way, relying on accredited services provides companies with benefits in terms of prestige and market trust, as well as cost savings and efficiency, since it reduces the likelihood that the same product or service will be subjected to redundant assessments because the market will recognize the information from its certificates; while also allowing them to demonstrate "due diligence" in the event of legal action. It likewise aids access to public procurement, as accreditation is increasingly prioritized in public procurement specifications; and recognition in international markets, since ENAC accreditation is accepted and recognized in more than 120 countries.
