SGS Brightsight, first accredited body for IoT platforms security certification according to SESIP scheme
ENAC has recently granted accreditation to SGS Brightsight Barcelona for security certification of ICT products for the Internet of Things, IoT, in accordance with the SESIP (Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms) scheme, recently adopted by CEN and CENELEC as a European standard (EN 17927:2023).
IoT platforms are made up of various connected devices, which in turn are made up of different integrated components, so it is essential to evaluate the cybersecurity of components and devices as well as the IoT platform as a whole.
In this sense, the SESIP certification scheme, based on Common Criteria, sets out the specific requirements for the security assessment of IoT platforms, providing a common and optimized approach to evaluate and streamline the security certification process of connected products.
Achieving this accreditation means that SGS Brightsight Barcelona has demonstrated that it complies with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard for certifying the security of IoT platforms in accordance with the SESIP scheme, which will guarantee the market of the company's technical competence to carry out this activity.
